The aim of Qwartz

The aims of the Qwartz Electronic Music Awards are as follows: to present and make heard the many facets of the contemporary electronic and digital music scene; give people the opportunity to enhance their knowledge of this music and enjoy it to the full; support the creativity and cultural diversity that independent production can ensure.

Edition 7th on your screen in November 2010

Designed to make use of current and future media and broadcast channels (the Internet, telephone, interactive terminals, etc.), this exposition - like the public vote for the winners of the Qwartz Awards - is worldwide in scope. 3 million people visited  the website in the course of the previous editions. They were from 80 countries in Asia, North and Central America and the Caribbean, South America and Europe, including 30% of visitors from France. A gala awards ceremony (for musical and artistic excellence) closes each edition and is held in Paris (Cirque d'Hiver Bouglione) at the beginning of April . This gala evening, open to the public (voters in all categories), brings together the nominated artists and labels, as well as the principal players on the electronic and cultural scene: producers, artists, delegates from cultural centers, representatives of institutions and civil societies, journalists, partners.

FREE ADMISSION

The 350 works are presented in a way that leads visitors to explore the whole range of electronic music and express their preferences in eight of the categories that are eligible for an award: track, album, discovery, experimental, dance-floor (clubbing), compilation, video clip, artwork and packaging. In all, approximately 20 hours of listening in streaming mode (instant play of the complete album or track by track) with a visual of the jacket, and the list and names of the pieces. Visitors to the site, wherever in the world they may be, are free to listen at any time of the day or night, decide what they want to hear, come back as often as they like - to mention just some of the online advantages.
Voting - a free option - is designed to support and show appreciation for the artists. It is carried out using identification and individual follow-up processes that prevent multiple voting.
