We are pleased to announce you the opening of the sixth edition of the Qwartz Electronic Music Awards.

Qwartz represents a promotional and supportive project to the musical independent creation by revealing this creation to the public and offering financial contributions to the artists. The prizes are attributed during the Awards Closing Ceremony every year.

The nomination and the selection of the prize-winners proceed as follows: the labels send one commercial exemplar of each registered release that must have been published between January 1^st, 2008 and July 15^th, 2009. Every release is digitalized and then is selected by Qwartz jury blindfold. Alejandro Jodorowsky will preside at Qwartz 6 Jury that is composed of the Professional Jury - 7 to 10 music sector professionals – and the Official Jury – 4 artistic personalities. The juries’ members select six releases in each of the following categories: Album, Discover, Experimental/Research, Dance-Floor/Clubbing, Compilation, Clip/Video, Artwork&Packaging. Then, the Internet users are invited to listen to the jury’s selection on Qwartz website in order to vote for the nominees during four months.

The prize-winners will be known during the Awards Closing Ceremony that happens on Friday, the 2^nd of April 2010. 1600 artists, labels, institutions and partners coming from all over the world will be assisting to the event. The Electronic Music and Associated Arts International Market will be organized this year again during two days.

The registration for Qwartz sixth edition is as follows: you have to send us an e-mail to registration6[@]qwartz.org before July 15^th 2009. The e-mail must contain the first and last name, phone number and address of the applicant, the organization’s name, and the registered artist(s)’s and release(s) names.    

The releases have to be sent before July 24^th 2009 to the following address: Qwartz / Association Pro/Art 53-55, rue de la Fontaine au Roi F-75011 Paris - France. Please notice that you have to join the completed and signed terms and conditions document after you have downloaded it in PDF .

The nominees will to be invited to Electronic Music and Associated Arts International Market on a stand.
